Q: Who Serves as Receiver?
A: Roy M. Terry, Jr. and the law firm of DurretteBradshaw PLC have been appointed Receiver by the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Mr. Terry is a director and shareholder in DurretteBradshaw PLC.
Q: What is the Receiver's job?
A: The District Court requires the Receiver to collect and preserve the assets, wherever they may be found, of Defendants Terry L. Dowdell (“Dowdell”), Dowdell Dutcher and Associates, Inc. (“DDA”), Emerged Market Securities, DE-LLC (“EMS”), or the affiliated entities of Dowdell, DDA and EMS (collectively the “Receivership Property”). The Receiver must also file with the Court periodic reports of their acts and transactions in their official capacity as Receiver. Finally, the Receiver has filed with the Court a plan of distribution to return the Receivership Property collected and preserved by the Receiver to injured investors.
